Tetiana Krachko

Tetiana Krachko was born in 1989 in Ukraine. She studied chemistry in Kyiv at Taras Shevchenko National University, graduated as Master Sc. in Inorganic Chemistry. She was working in the group of Professor Vladimir Amirkhanov on coordination chemistry, studying luminescent complexes of sulfonylamidophosphates with lanthanides. Aged 22, she won the scholarship from Ukrainian government for studying abroad, and she chose Paul Sabatier University of Toulouse where she obtained her second Master degree in Chemistry, working in the group of Dr. Claude Picard. For her Master thesis she performed a synthesis of polyaminocarboxylic ligands and studied photophysical properties of the Eu(III) and Tb(III) complexes.

In September 2013, Tetiana started her PhD at VU University Amsterdam under the supervision of Chris Slootweg. Her research topic, within the Marie Curie project SusPhos, is Catalytic Wittig Reaction. She is looking for more sustainable ways of phosphine oxide reduction and also investigating new pathways of Wittig Reaction.
