Emmanuel Nicolas

Dr. Emmanuel Nicolas studied Chemistry at École Polytechnique (France) where he graduated in 2010. He performed his PhD on reduced metal complexes synthesis, and their activity towards small molecules and C–H bond activation, under supervision of Dr. Nicolas Mézailles and Dr. Grégory Nocton. His PhD involved both experimental and theoretical work, and especially the dialogue between the two to discover new catalysts.

Emmanuel is currently a post-doctoral researcher in the group of Prof. Koop Lammertsma and Dr. Chris Slootweg, at the VU University in Amsterdam. His research focuses on sustainable phosphorus use, through phosphine oxide reduction, and innovative ligand synthesis to use in small molecule activation and catalysis.
