Chris Slootweg
Chris Slootweg studied chemistry at the VU University Amsterdam. During his MSc at the University of Sussex (Prof. M.F. Lappert), he was exposed to silicon chemistry and at the University of Amsterdam (Prof. P.W.N.M. van Leeuwen) to homogeneous catalysis. He received his PhD in 2005 (Prof. K. Lammertsma) on highly strained organophosphorus compounds. As a postdoctoral fellow he studied C-H activation (Prof. P. Chen) at the ETH Z├╝rich in Switzerland, for which he received a TALENT stipend from the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO). In 2006, he returned as an assistant professor to the VU University Amsterdam, where he is exploring his interests in main-group chemistry and organometallic chemistry with the aim of developing novel building blocks for the creation of functional materials and designed catalyst structures for sustainable chemistry. In 2012-2013, Chris is visiting professor at the University of Toulouse, France, and he is the coordinator of SusPhos.

Koop Lammertsma
Koop Lammertsma is the chair of the Organic and Organometallic Chemistry research group at the VU University. This research group focuses on new synthetic methods, reagents and catalysts, and develops reactive intermediates aimed at the sustainable use of chemicals.
